Paint the National Parks...
That was the practice of Gunnar Wildforss, a Swedish born artist from the early 20th century (he died in 1934 to give you a perspective. Many of his paintings are displayed in the national parks that he painted, some of which are: Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone. He painted in watercolor on locations, en plein air.
So inspiring, I love the detail and the depth of the paintings, it brings you in and gives you that feeling of vertigo, without actually being there. I want to paint with that much depth! Look him up on Google Images and see some of his paintings.
I would love to know what you think!
