Tara Sood was born in 1980 in Littleton, New Hampshire and raised in Colorado and Texas. She travels and lives around the world along with her Navy husband and 3 boys. Since 2011 she has participated in group shows through the San Clemente Art Association, Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League, Segil Fine Art in Monrovia, Altadena Town and Country Club, and the Randy Higbee Gallery. Additionally, she has been selected for the Academy of Art University Spring Shows in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and the Santa Paula Art Museum’s 2017 Golden State Splendor show by the California Art Club.
She states, ‘I think in paint’. The textural opaque qualities of oil paint on linen or canvas allows her brush to leave its mark and to build up layers of color that are analogous to the depth and psychology of her subjects. Her recent series is entitled The Japanese Potter, the Art and Process. She uses oil paint as a medium to document Japanese artisans and their love of nature and its beauty, while they produce their pottery. She will graduate with a Master's degree in Fine Art - Painting in the fall of 2018 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
Tara enjoys talking about art and life. Please contact her through the Contact Tara page or through her e-mail: [email protected] You may also post a message on her blog.
